Grounded suggests both a connection to the earth and a state of inner balance — a presence in the world.
The Grounded series was born from a restrained gesture, a deliberate act of holding back: no more covering, no more adding.
Where previously the paper glued to the canvas served as a base, destined to disappear beneath layers of paint, to vanish under colour, it now remains alone, left bare.
From this momentum of stripping away, a new path emerged: no longer painting, only gluing.
This restraint, far from limiting the creative act, recentres it.
Composition becomes essential. Paper becomes material. Collage becomes drawing. Tones become palette. Selecting, tearing, assembling. Gluing reveals itself as a complete gesture. Repeated, almost meditative, it focuses intention, sharpens attention, and gives the material its full presence.
Here, there is less questioning, less narration.
Only an attentiveness to the present, to the fragile balance between forms and textures, between tones and light.
Grounded reveals itself as a space of listening and anchoring — where surface touches depth.
